Neurology
(Neurology) department in Ibn Al-Haytham hospital treats a range of both common and rare neurological disorders affecting children and adults, like:-
- Headache, and stroke (ischemic and hemorrhagic)
- Spine and spinal cord disorders
- Nerves and muscles disorders
- Parkinson's disease
- Epilepsy
- Sleep disorders
- Alzheimer, dementia, and cognitive and behavioral disorders.
Additionally, the department performs the following tests:
- Electroencephalogram (EEG) to measure electrical activity in the brain.
- Electromyography (EMG) to assess muscle function.
- Nerve Conduction Study (NCS) to measure nerve activity and functionality.
- Administering Botox treatment under nerves’ monitoring device.
- Diagnostic and therapeutic lumbar puncture.
- Visual Evoked Potential (VEP) study, which tests the optic nerve and the visual center in the brain.
- Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) study, which tests the inner ear cochlea, the auditory nerve, and the auditory centers in the brainstem and brain responsible for hearing.
- Pain management through nerve blockage.
