Patient’s Rights

In harmony with hospital’s mission which focuses on providing the best care to patients, and believing in the role that the patient and his family have in the medical process, Ibn Al-Haytham hospital declares the following patients’ rights:

-The right to be treated friendly and respectfully all the time.

- The right to have cultural, psychological, spiritual, and personal values and beliefs respected.

- The right to obtain needed medical information.

- The right to know the financial costs of the treatment.

- The right to be well informed about identity of health care providers.

- The right of having privacy during physical examination and diagnostic procedures.

- The right to be assured that confidentiality of all personal and medical information -including the medical record- is maintained.

- The right to make verbal or written complaints or suggestions.

- The right to be protected from verbal and non-verbal insult.

- The right of to be safe and secure.

- The right to receive medical care properly, regardless of age, gender, religion, nationality, disabilities or special needs.

- The right to receive the right medical treatment that is based on the clinical need.

- The right to get the urgent medical care promptly and easily.

-The right to be treated by qualified health care providers.

- The right to be informed about diagnosis, treatments’ options, and to choose among the available treatment’s alternatives.

- The right to get educated about the prescribed medications, including their side effects.

- The right to refuse or stop a treatment or a procedure, and to get discharged.

- The right to be transferred within the hospital or to another hospital when needed.

In harmony with hospital’s mission, which focuses on providing the best care to patients, and believing in the role that the patient and his family have in the medical process, patients and their family should be committed to the following responsibilities:

- Adherence to hospital’s regulations and policies.

- Providing correct and necessary medical information.

- Inquire about anything that is not clear.

- Compliance with the treatment plan.

- Informing relevant medical staff about any updates, changes or complications.

- Be responsible for refusing treatment or getting discharged against doctor's advice.

- Paying for financial obligations

- Respecting other patients' rights.

- Respecting medical and non-medical staff in the hospital.

- Preserving hospital’s properties and assets.

- Keeping calm.

- Smoking in the assigned areas only.
