In celebration of World Hand Hygiene Day, observed on May 5th of each year, and under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Abu Khadijah, Deputy Chairman of the Board, and Dr. Imad Alaa Al-Din, General Manager, the Infection Control Department at Ibn Al-Haytham Hospital, represented by Infection Control Consultant Dr. Ahmed Abu Zeid and Infection Control Director Alaa Taha, organized an awareness day. The purpose of this day was to remind healthcare workers of the importance of hand hygiene in healthcare facilities, thereby protecting both healthcare workers and patients from the risk of infection. Hand hygiene is considered one of the most effective measures we can take to reduce the spread of disease-causing agents and prevent infections. Healthcare workers can play a role in infection prevention by practicing regular hand hygiene.
