Obstetrics and Gynecology Department

The (obstetrics and gynecology department) consists of the following units:

- Gynecological diseases and surgery unit: it is located in the fourth floor and it has fifteen beds.

- Delivery unit: it is located in the second floor, and it has four separate delivery rooms equipped with the latest delivery and monitoring devices to handle various childbirth cases, additionally, it has special operation and recovery rooms to monitor patients after normal and cesarean deliveries.

These units are supervised by consultants and qualified doctors, and the department is covered round the clock by female qualified doctors who are available to follow up the cases according to consultants’ orders, and to provide necessary medical care for emergencies.

All childbirth cases are held in private rooms, and there is a complete anesthesia coverage delivered from the anesthesia department when needed, which can also provide epidural for those who choose to undergo regional anesthesia.

The department also contains clinics operating during regular working hours, for examining pregnant women and handling various women's health issues, in addition to a full emergency coverage available after regular working hours.

The obstetrics and gynecology department encompasses a number of licensed midwives and qualified nurses. Various types of minor and major gynecological surgeries are performed in the operation’s department, by a qualified staff of anesthesiologists and nurses, and by utilizing modern techniques like laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, additionally, the department can perform surgeries for female urinary incontinence, where modern devices are used for the diagnosis and treatment.
