Deformed and Club Feet
A 12-year-old child was suffering from having deformed and club feet for several years! After conducting the necessary imaging and examinations, it was found that there was tightness in the tendons on the inner side of the foot, in addition to a deviation in the bone. He went under a surgery to realign the bone, have a bone grafting, release the inner tendons, tighten the outer tendons, and lengthen the Achilles tendon.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Mohammed Abu Hilal, a consultant in orthopedic and joints’ surgery, whereas anesthesia was administered by Dr. Abbas Al-Taweel, a consultant in anesthesia and intensive care and pain management, and head of the anesthesia department in Ibn Al-Hytham hospital.
