A Large Cerebral Mass in the Posterior Cerebral Angle



Under the supervision of the neurosurgery consultant dr. Alaa Nashat Taha, and his assistants; dr. Majdi Ramadan and dr. Doha Shahwan, the neurosurgery department in Ibn Al-Haytham hospital has performed a unique surgery to resect a large cerebral mass situated in the left posterior cerebral angle that was intertwined with brain nerves, and was compressing the brainstem of a forty-year-old patient, causing him a continuous headache, severe dizziness, and imbalance.

With the assistance of a special microscope, a brain navigation device, and brain -nerves monitoring device, the mass was completely removed. The operation was successfully completed, and the patient was discharged on the fifth day without any complications. Dr. Alaa Taha praised the hospital and the modern equipment it ows, he also thanked the anesthesia, resuscitation, and pain management consultant, dr. Mohammed Al-Kilani, as well as the exceptional anesthesia team and the nursing staff, including Mr. Mohammed Al-Toubasi and Mr. Mohammed Fawzi, for their remarkable efforts and outstanding roles which contributed in the success of the operation.
