Osteoarthritis

An Arab patient was suffering from joints’ degeneration due to having a chronic rheumatoid arthritis, which was causing her chronic pain and a limited mobility. She underwent a unique surgery, which involved replacement of a reversed shoulder joint, the surgery was performed by Professor Dr. Mahmoud Ababneh, a consultant in orthopedic and joints’ surgery, along with his assistants Dr. Anas Azzam and Dr. Mohammad Nagui, the surgery was conducted under general anesthesia under the supervision of the anesthesia consultant (Dr. Alaa Al-Khatib). The patient woke up without any pain, thanks to ultrasound and peripheral nerve anesthesia, and she was in a good health upon discharge.

This procedure was accomplished with the assistance and dedication of a professional team which included residents, operation room’s nurses, and anesthesia technicians.
